Audio - What to do! - Short Tutorial on how to use Wavepad

You can download WavePad from NCH software. Just type in WavePad download in google or you can click here.

Steps on how to make a basic sound recording for your stop motion animation Movie.

Step 1 - When you run Wavepad for the first time choose new file and you will be prompted with this New file screen interface. -->

Click OK on this screen. -->

Step 2

Now click record (the red button) on the dialogue at the bottom left had side of the screen.

Step 3

This is were you might have some problems if you have not set up your microphone or sound card correctly.

If your microphone is plugged in to the front panel or your PC then choose "Microphone FP"

An easy way to check which is the correct setting is to do a quick test recording by clicking on the record Red button. If you microphone is working then you should see a level meter move up and down as you speak into the microphone as shown here above  ( the green bars ... )

Step 4

When you have finished recording your voiceover then click the stop button (the square black button)

If you have been successful in recording then the Record Control interface should give you a screen something like that shown here <--  to indicate you have recorded something. If so then click on the close dialogue button X in the top right hand corner.

Step 5

Now save the file as "whateveryou-want-to-call-it" in a directory that you will remember.

So that is the very basic intro. You can now import that WAV file in to your stop motion animation program to use.
